ABOUT ME
Our strategy should be not only to confront empire, but to lay siege to it. To deprive it of oxygen. To shame it. To mock it. With our art, our music, our literature, our stubbornness, our joy, our brilliance, our sheer relentlessness — and our ability to tell our own stories. Stories that are different from the ones we’re being brainwashed to believe. The corporate revolution will collapse if we refuse to buy what they are selling — their ideas, their version of history, their wars, their weapons, their notion of inevitability. ~ Arundhati Roy

I am a writer of speculative literary fiction and creative nonfiction. As well, I am a writing coach, moderator, panelist, and workshop presenter. I’m also the creative nonfiction editor for The Fiddlehead literary journal and First Vice-Chair with The Writers’ Union of Canada.
Being Black Africadian and Polish settler Canadian, I am the daughter of multiple diasporas, including the Transatlantic Slave Trade. I want to support the experience of writers living in the margins, navigating between worlds, ideas and ideals, and the artificial constructs related to race, gender, misogyny, patriarchy, and disability.
I want to share creative sparks and expressions because artistry, especially in today’s political and cultural climate, is an act of self love and necessary defiance.
